Review by hotel critic
Nestled within the charming Bourtange, De Vesting is a hidden gem perfect for families seeking a historical yet comfortable retreat. During our stay, my family and I were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome extended to our little ones. The hotel's attention to detail for families with kids under 4 was commendable. As a mother, I appreciated the thoughtful amenities provided, like the children's menu filled with nutritious options and the dedicated play area that kept my kids entertained while we relaxed. One highlight for us was the family-friendly activities arranged by the hotel. From guided tours tailored for children to interactive workshops, there was never a dull moment. Watching my children engage with Dutch history in a fun and educational way was truly heartwarming. It's these small touches that made our family vacation both memorable and stress-free. Thank you, De Vesting, for creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for families like ours.
